Open since December 1993, Ulus 29 is owned and managed by Metin Fadıllıoğlu. – a
name synonymous with offering quality service, ambiance and a fine dining experience
to local and international gastronomy aficionados.
Ulus 29 is located on a hilltop in the upscale neighborhood of Ulus. The indoor dining area has floor to to ceiling windows affording a breathtaking view of the Bosphorus strait and the two bridges connecting the European and Asian shorelines. Further, the terrace is open during the summer months for your dining pleasure. The décor of Ulus 29 was designed by Zeynep Fadıllıoğlu, an internationally acclaimed interior designer, and her ZF Design team.
Ulus 29 is open daily from 6:30pm on for dinner and Monday-Friday from noon to 3:00pm for lunch.
Adjacent to the restaurant is “The Private Room” also affording a magnificent Bosphorus view. It is available for exclusive gatherings, meetings and special events.
The atmosphere at the chic, yet cozy Terrace Bar affords an ambiance that is
lively, dynamic and young with music in the forefront. Besides ordering from
the restaurant’s menu, customers can opt to try our tasty finger foods accompanied
with refreshing cocktails prepared by our skillful bartenders. Our resident DJs play
a variety of music nightly. During the weekends, our resident DJ Cem Salman and his
team spin unique blend of afro, funk, hip hop and Latin beats till the wee hours of
“Tuesdance!” held every Tuesday evening, has become one of the most popular music events held at Terrace Bar since the event began in 2007. Once a month, popular DJs from around the world perform live at Terrace Bar while on all other Tuesday nights, Turkish DJs get the crowd grooving to the latest trends from world music.

Also on premises is Club 29: it is open every Friday and Saturday night. Club 29 is
“the place to be” and it is also a place where you can hobnob with clubbers and
celebrities from Turkey and abroad. It is one of the most popular club’s in Istanbul
where you will not only enjoy the excellent music and service, but also the superb
Bosphorus strait view.
Club 29 has hosted and continues to host trendy and popular DJs from around the world. They include DJ Cris from Voile Rouge in St. Tropez; DJ Sam Young (London), the recipient of the “Best DJ” award in 2007; DJ Matteo, U2’s official DJ; DJ Jacky E from Les Caves du Roy; and DJs Fitz Brown and Dan Williams from Tramps among many others.
I and my entire kitchen staff at Ulus 29 are very passionate about cooking. We combine classic
cooking techniques with our own interpretations and understanding of gastronomy to create unique
and innovative dishes. Our aim is to offer our clientele a different culinary experience by
preparing dishes with the highest quality fresh seasonal products along with local, regional
and international ingredients.
We dry age our meats and smoke our fish; ice cream and pastas are homemade. Since we give great importance to the textures of our dishes, we use the latest technologically advanced appliances and cooking techniques to accomplish this.
Our menu is made up of 3 parts: the first part “avant-garde” cuisine includes innovative dishes from various cuisines that are prepared with seasonal products applying unique techniques to attain different forms and tastes. The 2nd part includes delectable traditional Turkish dishes and lahmacun and pide (Turkish style pizzas prepared with a variety of toppings) served straight out of our stone oven. The 3rd part of our menu includes a variety of appetizing sushi selections.

Our current wine list was created and developed with meticulous care and attention over
the past 3 years. Besides acquiring some of the best vintages from Turkish and International
wine producers, we also carefully followed the progress of the new generation of Turkish wine producers.
Our glass encased wine cellar is situated in clear view in the middle of our restaurant. We encourage our customers to visit the wine cellar to make their wine selection with Stephane Vattepain, our highly experienced sommelier.
Our wine cellar includes a selection of approximately 4,500 bottles of wine from 320 local and international wine producers.
